Introduction
The Straighness Training Academy and Straightness Training® – Marijke de Jong® (the “Company”) offer straightnesstraining.com, straightnesstrainingacademy.com, straightnesstrainingevaluation.com, and related products and services (collectively the “Site”) to you conditioned on your acceptance without modification of the terms, conditions and notices contained herein (the “Terms”).
Modification of These Terms
We reserve the right in our sole discretion to change, modify, add, or remove the Terms, conditions, and notices under which the Site is offered. It is your responsibility to check periodically for any changes we may make to these Terms. Your continued use of this Site following the effective date of changes to these Terms or other policies means you accept and consent to the changes.
1. Terms of Use
1.1. Website & other Social Media Platforms
- The Site is owned and operated by the Company.
- The Company owns and maintains the Site and several social media platforms – such as Facebook (pages and groups), Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, Pinterest, LinkedIn – for your personal education and information.
- Please read these Terms carefully before using our Site and social media.
- By using our Site and social media you signify your consent to these Terms..
- Your use of and browsing on our Site and other social media is at your risk. The Company is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising out of your acces to, or use of the Site.
1.1. Copyright
- Online programs, videos, eBooks, audio, photos and images are either the property of, or used with permission by the Company.
- You may download material displayed on the Site for non-commercial, home personal use only, provided you keep intact all copyright, trademark and other proprietary notices.
- You may not, however, copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit or distribute in any way the contents of the Site including the ebooks, text, images, audio and video for public or commercial purposes, without written permission from the Company.
- You should assume that everything you see or read on the Site is protected by copyright unless otherwise stated and may only be used according to these Terms of Use.
- The Company does not warrant or represent that your use of materials displayed on the Site will not infringe rights of third parties not owned by or affiliated with the Company.
1.2. Accuracy of information
- The Company uses reasonable efforts to publish accurate and up-to-date information.
- However, the Company makes no warranties or representations as to the accuracy of the information.
- The Company assumes no liability or responsibility for any errors or omissions in the contents of this website or any other publications.
1.3. Privacy
- The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, https://gdpr-info.eu) places new obligations on organizations that process personal data.
- In support of changes to this EU data protection law, effective 25 May 2018, we have updated our Privacy Policy to better explain the ways we use your data and your rights with regard to that data.
- Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs your visit to the website, to understand our privacy practices.
- All information provided by customers/clients/students is treated strictly confidential by the Company.

- Your use of and browsing in the Site is at your risk.
1.5. Submission
- You may post reviews, comments, send communications and submit suggestions, ideas, comments, questions, or other information on our Site and platforms, so long as none of these materials are illegal, obscene, threatening, defamatory, invasive of privacy, infringing on intellectual property rights, or otherwise injurious to third parties or objectionable and do not consist of or contain software viruses, political campaigning, commercial solicitation, chain letters, mass mailings, or any form of “spam.”
- You may not use a false email address, a fake account, impersonate anyone, or otherwise mislead as to the origin of any content.
- We reserve the right to remove or edit any such content.
- Any communication or material you transmit to our Site and our social media will be treated as, non-confidential and non-proprietary.
- Anything you transmit or post on our Site and other social media platforms may be used by Straightness Training® – Marijke de Jong® for any purpose, including but not limited to reproduction, disclosure, transmission, publication, broadcasting and posting.
- The Company is free to use any ideas, concepts, know-how, or techniques contained in any communication you send to the website or other social media for any purpose whatsoever, including but not limited to evaluating, critiquing, developing, publishing, and marketing products using such information.
1.6. Trademarks and logos
- The trademarks, and logos, displayed on the Site, are trademarks of the Company.
- Trademarks an logos may not be used without the written permission of the Company.
- Only licensed ST Instructors® are allowed to use the Company's logos, photographs, illustrations, graphic material, (trade) names and the intellectual property of the Company. Non-licensed instructors (Dutch ‘Instructors Rechtrichten’ 2007-2015, and ST Instructors 2015-2023) are allowed to refer in their CV’s to their education and diplomas obtained by following Marijke de Jong’s ST Instructor Program.
- It is not allowed to use an instructor or evaluator logo without a date.
- ST Mastery students have special permission to use the unique ST Mastery Student logo for personal, non-commercial use.
- With all logos it is not allowed to use other colors or to rotate the logo.
- It is not allowed to place a logo in a picture; not in print and not for digital use.
- Only Straightness Training® – Marijke de Jong® is allowed to create ST Facebook Country Groups or other groups with a speciality related to Straightness Training.
1.7. Revisions
- The Company reserves the right, in our sole discretion, to change, modify, add or delete portions of these Terms & Conditions at any time without notice, and it is your responsibility to review these Terms & Conditions for any changes.
2. Promotion and links
2.1. Promotion
- As of January 1, 2016, only instructors who are members of the ST Instructor Program and who are certified and licensed are promoted on the Site and social media platforms of the Company.
- See also chapter 13 on this page.
2.2. Links
- The Site may contain links to other websites operated by third parties other than the Company, such as links of ST Instructors.
- When you click on a link that directs you away from the Site, the site to which you are directed may not be controlled by the Company and different terms of use and privacy policies may apply which you should carefully read and evaluate.
- Your linking to any other off-site pages or other sites is at your own risk.
- You acknowledge that we are not responsible for examining or evaluating, and that we do not warrant the offerings of, any such third party or the content of their sites.
- We do not assume any responsibility or liability for the actions, products, or content of any third party or any third party site.
- We reserve the right to disable links from or to third-party sites, although we are under no obligation to do so.
3. Agreements & Payments
3.1. Start and duration of agreements
- An agreement (participation in a training course, clinic, online program, membershipsetc.) is established at the time of the purchased product or service is paid by the customer or when the first term of the purchased producte or service is paid.
3.2. Pricing and price changes
- The Company uses prices that depend on the services and products.
- The price for products such as the ST Mastery Class 2013-2020, and Basic ST Instructor 2022-2024 Program) is fixed at the start of the agreement.
- The Company reserves the right to adjust the fees for the programs and payment terms.
- During discount promotions for certain subsets of existing customers we will inform these particular customers through mail and social media. However, it still will be possible to buy at regular prices for new customers at other internet outlets. If the existing customers nevertheless buys the regular price, without using the communicated discount option, than the customer loses his or her right on the discounted price. This is to prevent costly and timely manual transactions, communication and resetting of automated systems.
3.3. Membership Fee Guarantee
- The price for the Scholars membership, the Self-Mastery Scholars membership, and the ST Instructor Scholar membership is a monthly or annual fee.
- Members who join at the current rate are locked into that rate for as long as their membership remains active. If the membership fee increases in the future, the new rate will apply only to new members. Existing members will continue to pay the rate agreed upon at the time of joining. This guarantee ensures that no fee increase will be experienced for the duration of continuous membership.
3.4. Charge
- A payment is made by transferring the amount of money for the product/service/program to a specific bank account of the Company. The customer receives a receipt of the payment for their own administration.
- A recurring membership fee is required as part of their agreement to access the relevant online program(s). Payments are processed automatically on the due date specified during registration. See also 4. Memberships
- If paying by debit card or credit card, you give the Company permission to automatically charge your credit or debit card for all fees and charges due and payable to the Company, without any additional authorization, for which you will receive an electronic receipt. You also agree that the Company is authorized to share any payment information and instructions required to complete the payment transactions with its third-party payment service providers (e.g., credit card transaction processing, merchant settlement, and related services).
3.5. Cancellation by the Company
- Upon cancellation of the program by the Company, in case there are not enough participants, or in case of illness, there will be a 100% refund of the total fee.
3.6. Cancellation policy for the customer
- See the specific cancellation policy for each specific product, service or membership below.
- If a product, service or membership offers the possibility for a refund, the refund will be done within 14 days after the request for a refund has been made and acknowledged.
3.7. VAT (Value-Added Tax) Policy:
- Customers who are eligible for VAT exemption are required to provide their VAT number at the time of checkout. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the correct VAT number is entered into the designated field during the purchasing process.
The Company does not offer retroactive refunds on VAT charges once a purchase has been completed. This policy is in place due to the administrative and accounting complexities associated with adjusting finalized transactions.
By completing a purchase through our platform, customers acknowledge and agree to these VAT terms and conditions.
4. Straightness Training Equipment
As of May 2019, all Straightness Training tack and equipment, can be obtained through www.kapsonequestrian.com.
5. Memberships
5.1. Payment & Cancellation Policy
- The membership payment is automatically processed each month (30 days) thereafter until the membership is canceled (if, for example, you join on May 21, your card will be charged again on June 21, July 21, and so on); recurring annual payments will be charged to your card on the same day, each year after you join (if, for example, you join on April 28, 2024, your card would be charged April 28, 2025 and so on).
- You can view your subscription and access end date in your Billing Information.
- At any time, you may cancel your membership at least forty-eight (48) hours before the next billing date. To officially cancel your membership, you must send a written request via email to [email protected]. Please note that cancellations are not finalized until you receive a confirmation email from the Company. It is your responsibility to ensure your cancellation request is submitted and acknowledged in a timely manner to avoid additional charges.
- After giving notice of cancellation, you will be immediately removed from all social media groups.
- After you cancel your subscription, you will loose access to all your content at the end of your billing cycle (not the end of the month). This means, you will only remain full access to the site, group classes, and all online materials until the end of your 30-day billing cycle (not the end of the month).
- The membership and its privileges are personal and non-transferable.
- The Company reserves the right to charge a late fee on all balances more than 30 days overdue. You agree to reimburse the Company for all collection and/or legal fees and expenses necessitated by lateness or default in payment.
- The Company reserves the right to recover overdue payments using multiple attempts, which may include both automated and manual methods. If a payment fails due to insufficient funds or other issues, the system will automatically attempt to process the payment again up to five (5) times. These attempts will occur within a specified period to ensure the payment is successfully processed. If all five (5) automatic attempts fail, the company reserves the right to attempt manual recovery of the outstanding payments.
- If payment is not received after both automatic and manual efforts, the customer’s login credentials for the relevant online program(s) will be suspended. Access will remain restricted until all outstanding payments are received in full. In such cases, you will have a five (5) day grace period to make the payment, otherwise we reserve the right to terminate your access to the Program immediately and permanently.
- If the payment remains outstanding for an extended period, the company reserves the right to terminate the membership and access to the online program(s) permanently. Any rights to refunds or claims will be forfeited.
5.2. Refund Policy
- In the ST Mastery and Self-Mastery Scholars Membership, protection is provided by a 100% Action Taker's Money Back Guarantee. To qualify, members must complete all required steps and milestones as detailed in the 8 checklists within the first 8 weeks of the 8 Stage Success Pathway. This includes submitting the Groundwork Grade 1 Touchstone, which consists of a script of exercises. All exercises must be performed, as skipping any script item results in a rating of 1, leading to non-certification. Members are responsible for following and performing all exercises in the script. If, after performing all items and exercises in the script, the Groundwork Grade 1 Touchstone Certification is not achieved, a full refund will be issued upon submission of the completed work.
- The ST Instructor Scholars membership comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you decide within 14 days that it's not right for you, just email Support ([email protected]) and the company will process a full refund. After the 14-day period, your initial payment for the first month of the ST Instructor Scholars membership becomes non-refundable, and your subscription membership officially begins.
5.3. Privacy Policy
- Please review our Privacy Policy to learn how we manage personal information.
- By taking part in our membership(s), you agree to keep members’ information confidential.
- Our membership include a community on Facebook. This is a social network in which personal information may be exchanged between participants. You are entirely responsible for deciding how much of your personal information you wish to share in the membership. The Company will not share, sell, or rent the personal information of its members to third-party businesses, however, we cannot guarantee the confidentiality of any of the information you choose to share in the community on Facebook.
- Virtual Private Coaching session(s) provided by the Company in our memberships is completely confidential.
5.4. Disclaimer & Liability
- The sole purpose of the ST Academy and its memberships is to provide educational materials and coaching in the area of self-mastery, mastery of Straightness Training, and being an ST Instructor. Under no circumstances will Straightness Training – Marijke de Jong or any of its representatives be held liable for any special or consequential damages that result from the use of, the improper use of, or the inability to use the information or strategies communicated to you through the ST Scholars Program.
- By participating in the memberships, you hereby waive and release the Company to the full extent permitted by law from any and all claims relating to the use of and/or reliance on the information and content provided to you. In no event shall Straightness Training – Marijke de Jong be held liable for any injury, loss or damage resulting from the use of, or reliance upon, the ST Scholars Program materials.
- The ST Academy does not guarantee results. Your results in your self-mastery, mastery of Straightness Training, and as an ST Instructor will be completely dependent on your understanding of the course materials and your effort to apply it.
- Our memberships are not a replacement for health/medical care. If you require health, medical, psychiatric, and/or psychological care, you are advised to retain the services of a licensed medical professional.
6. ST Mastery, Entry & Home Study Course
6.1. Cancellation & Refund Policy
- By using and/or purchasing any of our Training Programs, Products, and Services, you understand and agree that all sales are final after seven days and no refunds will be provided for any reason.
- If you bought the Mastery, Entry our Home Study Course and for any reason you’re not 100% satisfied with the one of these courses, then the 7-Day-Money-Back Guarantee will come in to effect. This means: Straightness Training – Marijke de Jong will, upon request via [email protected], issue a refund that is requested within 7 days of purchase.
- Approved refunds can take up to 7 days to appear in your account – however, refunds to international payment methods may take longer.
- Refund requests and/or payment cancellations (in case of paying in part-payments), made significantly outside of the 14 day refund window are not eligible – no matter what circumstances.
- All refund requests are handled through [email protected].
- The courses and its privileges are personal and non-transferable.
6.2. Access
- You will always have access to your version of the course (as long as we are in business). Legally we cannot say “lifetime” as it is too vague.In practice, it means you can access the materials at your convenience.
7. ST Evaluation Program & Touchstone policy
7.1. Program Touchstones 2013-2020
- If you have received a Touchstone(s) in any of our 2013-2020 programs – Entry Course, ST Mastery Program, Restart Program, Rising Star Program, ST Instructor Program – these Program Touchstones have to be considered as completely personal, so you cannot pass those Program Touchstone(s) to somebody else.
- Once you have submitted your Program Touchstone(s), you can continue with paid Touchstones.
- You can submit a maximum of 1 Program Touchstone a month.
7.2. Paid Touchstones
- Single and paid Touchstones have to be considered as completely personal, and cannot be transfered to somebody else.
7.3. Submission policy
- The submission period for Touchstones is 12 months.
- After this 12 month period, you no longer submit these Touchstones, no matter what the reason is that you didn’t submit them.
- There’s no possibility to extend the 12 month submission period, no matter what the reason is for the request for extension.
- After this 12 month period, there will be no refund for non-submitted Touchstones.
- The ST Evaluation system is operating on Portuguese time so your Touchstone might expire a few hours earlier than it would in your timezone.
8. ST Instructor Program 2020-2021
For the Basic ST Instructor Program, see Chapter 12.
8.1. Agreement
- To this agreement applies a cooling off period of 14 days.
- After these 14 days this agreement is effective during the term of the ST Instructor Program.
8.2. Cancellation Policy
- Upon cancellation a 5% fee of the total amount will apply and the remaining 95% refunded if the cancellation is more than one month before the start of the program.
- 10% fee of the total amount will apply and the remaining 90% refunded if the cancellation is within one month before the start of the program.
- Upon cancellation during the program no fee will be refunded.
8.4. Certification and Licensing
- To create a professional organization of ST Instructors and to protect the quality to make sure ST Instructors remain never-ending students, Straightness Training® – Marijke de Jong® uses a license structure for all certified ST Instructors.
- The license agreement consists of clear agreements about the rights of an ST Instructor to receive support from Straightness Training® – Marijke de Jong® on the area of the instructor’s own development in ST, teaching and marketing areas. In addition to these rights there is the obligation to continue to study and to maintain, broaden and deepen knowledge and skills by being a member of the Scholar Program and by taking an annual theory exam in December.
9. Straightness Training Live Events
9.1. Event policy
- Commercial and/or official ST gatherings like events, workshops, clinics, need to be held under supervision of a licensed ST Instructor® to ensure that quality standards are met, and to protect the purity of Marijke de Jong’s Straightness Training method for the benefit of the horse and rider.
- It’s not allowed to organize commercial and/or official gatherings in which approaches similar to Marijke de Jong’s Straightness Training are being practiced and taught, while using Marijke de Jong’s logos, trademarks, pictures, drawings and other visual expressions of the Straightness Training philosophy. It requires the presence of an official licensed ST Instructor® to do so.
- Private and non-commercial gatherings of enthusiastic ST lovers who are figuring out what ST can mean to them, are a sole responsibility of those who organize these gatherings.
- ST Demos with a horse on live happenings and events in front of an audience can only be given by an ST Instructors licence C.
- The licensed ST Instructors® listed on this website (see https://www.straightnesstraining.com/instructors/) are trained and licensed by Marijke de Jong. They are independent entrepreneurs with their own privately owned companies. These licensed ST Instructors® are a member of the Straightness Training Instructor Network (STIN) and work together to spread and develop ST around the world.
10. ST Clinics with Marijke de Jong
10.1. Rider and auditor requirements
- Riders and auditors will sign an entry form with medical history, liability and emergency contact. When completed, this form will be kept strict confidential and is regarding information for your general safety and/or in the event of an accident.
- In the event of a change in information right before the start of the clinic a new form will be completed, provided and signed.
- Participants understands that the organizers/instructors and location of hire cannot be held liable for any physical and material damage which is a direct or indirect result and/or a consequent of an accident during, before and after the event in question. This exclusion of liability covers/includes damage to the rider’s horse, participants/students and their horse, third parties and their horse, objects or building.
10.2. Horse requirements
- Stallions will only be accepted with prior agreement with Straightness Training® – Marijke de Jong®.
- For ridden instruction, your horse must be started under saddle.
- If your horse has serious behavioural issues, please contact [email protected] prior to booking.
- The horse that you will use during the lessons does not have any serious behavioural problems that have not already discussed with Straightness Training® – Marijke de Jong®.
- You are aware that activities involving horses can be dangerous and unpredictable and that you can be injured or killed. You accept all risks of personal injury, death or property damage (including to or by my horse) to yourself or caused to others.
- You hold third party liability insurance, or accept that you may be held personally responsible for injury or damage to other horses, people or property that is caused by myself or my horse.
10.3. Equipment requirements
- Riders must wear a BS approved helmet at all times when mounted. Helmets must comply with BS EN0384 or PAS015, be less than 5 years old from the date of manufacture, have not suffered a significant impact, and must have the chinstrap fastened.
- ppropriate riding shoes or boots must be worn at all times when mounted.
- Basic equipment of a cavesson, rein and dressage whip will be helpful, but are not necessary.
- For mounted lessons, a saddle, curb or snaffle bridle and bareback pad may be required.
10.4. Cancelation policy
- Upon cancellation of the event via Straightness Training® – Marijke de Jong® there will be a 100% refund of the total fee.
- Upon cancellation of a rider and their participation a 30% fee of the total amount will apply and the remaining 70% refunded if the cancellation is before the event.
- Upon cancellation during the clinic no fee will be refunded.
10.5. Photo/Video
- During the lessons it’s not allowed to take pictures or to record with a video camera for spectators.
- Riders are allowed to film their own lessons for private use. It’s not allowed to put the recordings on youtube or any other internet platforms.
- The rider grant Straightness Training® – Marijke de Jong® the right and permission to take photographic pictures or videos of rider and horse and to use their name and to use, edit, exhibit and publish these pictures or videos on the ST websites and social media. The rider acknowledges that he/she has no interest, ownership or copyrights in any pictures or recording produced by Straightness Training® – Marijke de Jong®.
11. Support & ST Facebook Community
- Customer support is avalable via [email protected].
- To provice community support for our members, we have set up special Facebook Groups. These groups assist students during their membership.
- We do our best to create a safe and welcoming space for everyone, however, we cannot guarantee that all group members will follow these guidelines. Therefore, we are not to be held liable for any participant’s comments, actions, posts, content, or materials that result in another group member’s discomfort or distress.
- By posting or submitting any material in the group, you are representing to us that you are the owner of all such materials and you are also granting us the right to make it part of our current or future programs or other content. Any material you post may become public (for example, for use in our testimonials or before/after pictures).
- We reserve the right to remove any members without notice who repeatedly or severely do not comply with the ST Facebook Group Values & Policy, as we take our ST Facebook groups and the ST Community and its members very seriously. Violation of any value, guideline or policy is grounds for permanent or temporary suspension of a community member:
- We reserve the right to suspend membership to the ST FB Community for any member at its discretion.
- We reserve the right to deny any request for membership to the ST FB Community at its discretion.
- If a member violates the ST Facebook Group Values & Policy and paid for one of our Online Programs, this member will remain to have access to those Online Programs, but will be removed from the ST FB Community without refund.
- Facebook is outside our control, and therefore our Facebooks groups are not a promised deliverable of the Straightness Training Academy. As such, it can be closed at any point.
- We reserve the right to create, modify, or discontinue a Facebook group at any time at our sole discretion.
12. Basic ST Instructor Certification Program 2022-2024
12.1. Agreement
- To this agreement applies a cooling off period of fourteen (14) days.
- After these fourteen (14) days this agreement is effective during the term of the Basic ST Instructor Certification Program.
12.2. Payment
- If paying by credit card or Paypal, you give The ST Academy permission and authorization to automatically charge your credit card or Paypal account as payment for your Basic ST Instructor Certification Program for which you will receive an electronic receipt.
- If you purchase Basic ST Instructor Certification Program using our payment plan option, you agree to pay the initial payment to secure your participation and also agree to begin payments on the date specified on the enrollment form. By using the enrollment form, you give The Straightness Training Academy permission and authorization to automatically charge your credit card or Paypal account every thirty (30) days until all payments are completed.
- In the event that payment is not received by the date due, you will have a seven (7) day grace period in which to make the payment; otherwise, your access and entitlement to the Basic ST Instructor Certification Program training materials, Products, or Services will be discontinued. If you fail to make payment in a timely manner in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or voluntarily decide to withdraw from our Basic ST Instructor Certification Program at any time or for any reason whatsoever, you still will remain fully responsible for the full cost of the Basic ST Instructor Certification Program.
- When you purchase the Basic ST Instructor Certification Program, the information provided and obtained as part of the transaction, such as your credit card number and contact information, may be collected by both the third-party merchant and by us. A merchant may have privacy and data collection practices that are different from ours. We have no responsibility or liability for the merchant’s independent policies.
- You agree to be financially responsible for all purchases you make. You agree to purchase and use our Basic ST Instructor Certification Program for legitimate purposes only in compliance with these Terms of Use. You also agree not to make any purchases for speculative, false, or fraudulent purposes. You release us from any damages that you incur and agree not to assert any claims against us or them, arising from your purchase or use of our Basic ST Instructor Certification Program.
12.3. Refund Policy
- Once the first payment for the Basic ST Instructor Certification Program has been made, you will have fourteen (14) days from the start date of the payment plan in which to withdraw from the Program and request a refund.
- You understand and acknowledge that, because of the extensive time, effort, preparation, and care that goes into creating and/or providing our Basic ST Instructor Certification Program, we are unable to honor any requests for a refund of any portion of your payment for any part of our Basic ST Instructor Certification Program beyond that date.
12.4. Transfer to next class session due to medical necessity
- If you are unable to complete your Basic ST Instructor Certification Program session due to a medical condition, you may be permitted to transfer to the next class session.
- To do so, you may be asked to provide medical certification that not only confirms the existence of a disability that has prohibited you from completing the requirements in your current class session, but also certifies that you will be able to participate in the course and meet the requirements for the next class session.
12.5. Free Scholars Membership
- The moment you enroll in the Basic ST Instructor Certification Program, you’ll get immediate access to the Scholars membership.
- The free Scholars membership continues for 12 months in 2022.
- If you are already a Scholars member the moment you enroll in the Basic ST Instructor Certification Program, your free membership starts at the end of your current billing cycle.
- Refund of you current and previous billing cycles is not possible.
13. Terms & Conditions on Teaching ST
- The licensed ST Instructors® listed on this website are trained and licensed by Marijke de Jong. They are independent entrepreneurs with their own privately owned companies. These licensed ST Instructors® are a member of the Straightness Training Instructor Network (STIN) and work together to spread and develop ST around the world.
- Only licensed ST Instructors® are allowed to use Straightness Training® – Marijke de Jong® logos, photographs, illustrations, graphic material, (trade) names and the intellectual property of Straightness Training® – Marijke de Jong® . Non-licensed instructors (ST Instructor Graduates* and Dutch ‘Instructors Rechtrichten’ 2007-2015**) are allowed to refer in their CVs to their education and diplomas obtained by following Marijke de Jong’s teaching programs.
13.1. Commercial gatherings
- Commercial and/or official ST gatherings like events, workshops, clinics, need to be held under supervision of a licensed ST Instructor® to ensure that quality standards are met, and to protect the purity of Marijke de Jong’s Straightness Training method for the benefit of the horse and rider.
- It’s not allowed to organize commercial and/or official gatherings in which approaches similar to Marijke de Jong’s Straightness Training are being practiced and taught, while using Marijke de Jong’s logos, trademarks, pictures, drawings and other visual expressions of the Straightness Training philosophy. It requires the presence of an official licensed ST instructor® to do so.
13.2. Non-commercial gatherings
- Private and non-commercial gatherings of enthusiastic ST lovers who are figuring out what ST can mean to them, are a sole responsibility of those who organize these gatherings.
13.3. ST Demos
- ST Demos with a horse on live happenings and events in front of an audience can only be given by an ST Instructors with a licence A, B or C.
13.4. Non-licensed ST Instructors
13.4.1. Graduates from the international ST Instructor Program
- Between 2015 and 2018, our international ST Instructor Program has certified 20 ST Instructors. These ST Instructors have received a diploma as an official certificate, and they ave been certified in the five training pillars of ST: groundwork, longeing, work in hand, riding and liberty, all conform the 2015 standard – standard 1.0. – of the ST Evaluation Program.
13.4.2. Dutch “Instructeurs Rechtrichten”
- Between 2007 and 2015 our Dutch Instructor program has certified over 40 instructors in the Netherlands and Belgium. These instructors have been certified in the three training components longeing, work in hand and riding at the level of competence that was the standard in the year of graduation. These instructors will offer their own range of teachings – including the 3 training components longeing, work in hand, riding – under the umbrella of their own personal label.
The official title ST Instructor® is reserved strictly for the licensed instructors mentioned in the list of “Licensed ST Instructors” as listed on this website.
