ST Demo Day at Horse Boy

What a great demo day we had at the Horse Boy Foundation in Elgin (Texas, USA) which was wonderfully organized by Rupert Isaacson and Iliane Lorenz and the Horse Boy staff.

It was a very cold and windy day, so we started with some dancing to warm up ;) The morning lecture was about the dimensions of natural asymmetry and the keys of straightness training and we continued with groundwork demos with the lovely Horse Boy horses Marvel, Breac and Taz.

Marvel is a wise senior horse, Breac is a young mare with strong pushy hind legs and Taz has had an accident with his right hind leg. So with these three different horses it was interesting to see what straightness training could do for them. With Taz I could also demonstrate ST at liberty.

After the lunch break we started with a short lecture about the areas of straightness training and about the riding aids. With the marvelous horse Marvel I explained all riding aids in walk, trot and canter.

Josh and his lovely horse Figo did an amazing job in showing the audience how you can develop an independant seat and balance. Iliane Lorenz and the wonderful Rino where a super combo in demonstrating the sequence of the exercises in walk and trot. Rupert Isaacson and his beautiful stallion Zag did wonderful in developing an improving the collection in canter.

It was so great to meet straightness training fans and horse lovers from all over the US!Thanks to all the participants who brought their warmth and enthusiasm to the demo and to the wonderful Horse Boy Horses with their beautiful souls and spirits.

And thanks to Marc, Rupert, Iliane, Josh, Steve, Vicky, and Nell and the Horse Boy staff for making this demo a success!

What Participants Had to Say:

Lee Ann Kagy (USA) What a great day and clinic. Thanks to Rupert for opening his home to all of us and supplying every extra coat and blanket he could lay his hands on. What a gentleman he is. Marijke is a wonderful instructor and I am thankful that I could attend this first time event. Walked away with so much it will take me some time to fully digest. But I do know one thing for sure. Making the decision to invest the Straightness Training programwas very wise as it will keep supplying me with wonderful information as I make my journey toward excellence in horsemanship.

Mary OConnor (USA) Wonderful clinic. Marijke is so inspiring. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and working so passionately to bring it to us.

Nell Hanley (USA) Such an excellent day at the Horse Boy Foundation in Elgin, Texas with Marijke de Jong, Marc Marsman, Rupert Isaacson, the horses, the pig, the cat, and all of the great Horse Boy staff.
